Description:

Unit or object emits the given sound in 3D Space.

This allows broadcasting of positional music or sound from a source, without having to script a fade sound or music command.

Compare this with say2D, which always plays the sound at the player location after they have been in the vicinity of a broadcasting sound. The sound is defined in the CfgSound class of description.ext (see Scripting with description.ext in the VBS3 Scripting Manual).

Syntax

Syntax:unit say3D sound
Parameters:
  • unit: Object - Unit to emit the sound.
  • sound: String - Class name, as defined in description.ext.
Return Value:Nothing

Alternative Syntax

Syntax:[unit, target] say3D sound
Parameters:
  • unit: Object - Unit to emit the sound.
  • target: Object - Sound target (for example, a fellow interlocutor unit).
  • sound: String - Class name, defined in description.ext.
Return Value:Nothing
