Description

Description:Returns the side of an entity.

Syntax

Syntax:side entity
Parameters:
Return Value:Side - Data Type - Side value. Dead units always return civilian (see playerSide, if you want the original side value for a dead player). Empty groups return sideUnknown.

Alternative Syntax

Syntax:side [entity, aliveSide] (V1.30+)
Parameters:
  • entity: Object - Entity to check.
  • aliveSide: Boolean - If true, get the side of when the unit was alive - as any dead unit is civilian (optional, default: false).
Return Value:Side - Data Type

Side values read from configs (e.g. via getNumber(configFile>>"CfgVehicles">>typeOf player>>"side")) are:


  • -1: No side
  • 0: East
  • 1: West
  • 2: Resistance
  • 3: Civilian
  • 4: Unknown
  • 5: Enemy
  • 6: Friendly
  • 7: Logic
